Servoki vs Plausible

Both are privacy-first, cookieless, EU-friendly analytics tools. The difference is what happens after the pageview. Here's an honest comparison — including where Plausible is the better choice.

Verdict

CHOOSE SERVOKI IF…

  • You run paid acquisition and need conversions back in Meta — with consent handled properly
  • You want revenue funnels and attribution, not just traffic stats
  • Browser data alone undercounts you (ad blockers, ITP) and you want server-confirmed events

CHOOSE PLAUSIBLE IF…

  • You need clean, simple traffic analytics and nothing more
  • Open source is a requirement — Plausible is AGPL with a strong self-hosting community
  • You want a tool with years of production maturity today, not an early-access product

The real difference

Plausible answers "what happened". Servoki also answers "what was it worth — and did Meta hear about it?"

Plausible pioneered the category Servoki lives in: lightweight, cookieless, GDPR-friendly analytics that replaced Google Analytics for tens of thousands of sites. For content sites, blogs and most SaaS marketing sites, it's genuinely all you need, and its open-source model means you can run it yourself forever.

Servoki targets the team Plausible's model leaves stretched: you spend money on ads, you need conversions confirmed by your backend (not just by a script that ad blockers eat), and you need those conversions back inside Meta's optimisation loop without violating anyone's consent. That's a different job — it needs event deduplication, consent logging, hashed server-side forwarding and revenue attribution, which is exactly the part Servoki builds in.

Migration is a one-line script swap (goals and custom events map directly), and most teams run both trackers in parallel during the switch. Historical import isn't available in early access.
